Zofran

Zofran is a FDA approved anti-nausea medication that was used to treat nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy or  postoperative surgery patients. Unfortunately, many pregnant women were also prescribed Zofran for morning sickness by unsuspecting doctors and OBGYNs who were under the impression from the drug’s manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, that the prescription was also safe for pregnant women.

Recent studies have concluded there is a link between Zofran and several severe birth defects including:

  • Heart Defects
  • Cleft Lip
  • Cleft Palate
  • Club Foot
  • Limb and Skeletal Defects
  • Kidney Defects
  • Wrongful Death
